BMC's Communications Associate is a part-time, remote position responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing content for digital media, email marketing, website updates as well as designing print and digital material for BMC.
Responsibilities
Compile, edit and design quarterly email newsletter NewsNet and periodic announcements using Vertical Response
Includes sending test emails, updating the NewsNet and Home pages on website, and archiving a PDF document in the Google Drive folder.
Ensure Vertical Response email contact list is up to date
Upload CSV files to Vertical Response of contacts (including editing google sheets document or excel document to create accurate CSV)
Maintain and update website (hosted on Wix) with new content, designs, etc. Fix any errors/typos, on a regular basis.
Design banners for website using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator. Use style guide and branding for announcements, events, etc.
Update listing and map for new SCN congregations as needed
Maintain board member page with accurate bios, contact information, etc.
Redesign resources webpage (upcoming project that will take up the majority of time for this position for the first few months)
Maintain BMC Facebook page and other social media as determined with Executive Director
Design fundraising letters per year for print and email (1-2 per year, November is key time)
Design print and digital resources in collaboration with Executive Director
Work together with Executive Director to address media/communication needs for BMC
Initiate communication with Wix and Vertical Response customer service to solve problems related to email platform or website; confer with BMC’s IT consultant as necessary

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)

Application Details
Remote position. Approximately 4-8 hrs per month, hours fluctuate, paid monthly as an independent contractor. Hourly rate will be discussed according to technical skills set. Opportunity for hours to increase with special projects as mutually agreed upon.
