Join BMC as our Bookkeeper starting January 2025! This is a remote, part-time role for our small, fairly simple nonprofit. BMC is up to date on its accounting.
Responsibilities:
Maintain BMC books and provide monthly financial statements to the BMC Executive Director and BMC Board of Directors Treasurer.
o Post transactions
o Reconcile asset accounts
o Handle recuring payments
Manage staff payroll (1-2 staff) and related federal and state reporting
Assist with maintaining relationships with banks and other financial institutions
Compliance reporting
Produce Worker Compensation Audit
Produce 1099s for contractors
With ED, facilitate annual Form 990
o (Desired but not required) Prepare and file the annual Form 990 for additional compensation
With ED, facilitate MN and IL charitable organization reporting
Provide advice and counsel as requested from the Executive Director or Board of Directors Treasurer
Technical Skills:
Intuit/Quickbooks Online
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Google Workspace
Online banking
Hours and Rate:
This position is budgeted at ~3,300/year for an estimated 10 hours/month. Position will be paid as a contractor at a flat monthly rate.
This position could be combined with additional 10 hrs/month of paid bookkeeping at a BMC partner organization, for a total of about 20 hrs/month, if desirable.
